Teaching the Future Generation

We have so many great teachers at MHS, but everyone knows the teachers whose classes fill up instantly because they are loved by all the students.

“Mr. Phillips, Ms. Jacobson, and Mrs. Leatham are my favorite teachers. Each of them taught me life skills and lessons that we could apply to our lives. It is very rare to come across that. You can tell that they have a passion for teaching and care for every student,” Senior Riley Gilbert said.

Everyone has a different definition of a perfect teacher. Some like them more laid back, others like it when they keep the class in order and the discussions going.

“A perfect teacher should care about individual students’ needs and they should be creative and not just generic like every stereotypical teacher,” Gilbert said.

Teachers play key roles in our future. They don’t only teach us the subject, but they teach us lifelong lessons that we can use in the future.

“Teachers are a big part of our lives. They affect our outcome, and what we learn is what we put out into the world, and they are the ones teaching us that,” Senior Allyson Meservy said.

The community of Madison doesn’t quite realize the sacrifices the teachers make for us. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand all that they do for the school and community.

“I don’t think we realize how much they do for us. They get up every morning to come and face maybe a really disrespectful class, but they still push through it,” Gilbert said.
