MHS is having an Art show, coming up on May 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m, at the high school. At the show, there will be a fundraiser for the art program where the art club is selling items made by the students in the ceramics class.

“We were assigned to make about ten different items,” Senior Jessica Sutton said. “I chose to make animals that hold jewelry. I made an elephant where its trunk holds rings and right now I’m making a whale and its tail is like a bowl that holds earrings.”

The ceramics students were asked to make items that are unique and interesting to them.

Senior Weston Eborn shows off the skier he is sculpting in ceramics. He has taken ceramics the last two years and decided to sculpt a skier because he skies himself.

“I’m building a skier {for the show}. I like skiing so I decided to do something that I like,” Senior Weston Eborn said.

At the art show, there will be displays of all of the work that has been done this year. There will also be a senior showcase where seniors can bring in their work from the past three years to be displayed.

“The seniors get to showcase all of their work from the last three years if they choose to, and they will have their own little station. It’s kind of a send-off to them,” Mr. Lauritsen said.

*If you have any artwork from this year that you would like to be displayed in the show, bring it into Mr. Lauritsen’s room before May 3rd.
