The Madison Bobcats won both consolation bracket games in the East Idaho Holiday Tournament by double digits and allowed an average of 44 points a game.
“We kind of just work really well together on defense as a team, we’re really good at talking and just working things out, we work really hard and that’s just king of our mindset going into every game is the offense will come so we just got to make sure we work hard on defense and just control what we can control,” Senior Chase Crane said.
Madison star junior Nash Humpherys had been averaging 22 points a game this season as he got 27 points in the first game and 22 in the second.
“Just try and take over when it’s there and always try and get going,” Humpherys said.
But basketball is a team sport and it takes everyone to win games and to win games by a lot.
“Just kind of sharing the ball and making the right play, we have a lot of really good players that can shoot really well so we just got to make sure to find the open guy and we’ve been doing that really well lately and we’re just trying to get better for when we play Owyhee again,” Crane said.
Madison plays their rivalry game against Rigby on January 4th at Rigby High School and is a game to look forward to.
“We just got to come ready to go and come with the intensity that we need to,” Humpherys Said.
