The boys basketball team played their first game yesterday supported by the MHS student section. They defeated the Idaho Falls Tigers, with the bleachers full of hyped up students who love coming to games to support our team.

The student section theme was a classic red-out and anticipation was high for the kick off of this year’s basketball season.

“It was the first game of the season so everyone was super excited,” junior Taycie Hammond said.

During the basketball season you can always count on a full and excited student section, no matter the theme. Many love the student section because of the sense of the Bobcat pride.

“I feel like there is really good school spirit in the student section, everyone is really pumped up and gets in the opponents heads,” junior Ethan Carpenter said.

In last nights game against the Tigers the student section did an excellent job of getting in our opponents heads by doing chants whenever the other team had the ball.

“My favorite chant we did was “AIRBALL!” because its funny because he’s a loser and he missed,” junior Whitney White said in reference to the Tiger’s point guard.

The student section of MHS loved watching and supporting our team as the basketball team crushed the Tigers, not only for the fun chants, but also for the sense of school spirit you can’t help but feel.

“The student section is super fun because we feel so unified as a school and it makes us feel like a big team and a family,” junior Haddy Hill said.
