‘The Forgotten Carols’ inspire families and bring Christmas Spirit
by Hannah Bennett
The Christmas Season brings with it happiness and Christmas cheer. This year, Michael McLean (creator of the Forgotten Carols) brought Inspiration to families in Rexburg through songs and well thought out characters.
This year the cast and crew are travelling on their 25th Anniversary Tour. The show was created and performed for the first time in 1991. McLean started out playing every character to have an entire crew and cast to support him.
“This is the twenty fifth anniversary so this show has been performed since 1991. Although, I’ve been telling stories since 1974,” McLean said.
Some students of MHS’s Bel Cantos Choir were able to perform with McLean throughout the show. They have been preparing for three weeks in class to perform. They sang ‘Three Kings’, ‘Herald of the Bells’, and ‘Arise’. Kaleb Christensen, Junior, participated in “The Forgotten Carols’ with the Bel Cantos choir.
“I’m excited we get to perform. I especially like ‘The Herald of the bells. I like the contrast compared to the rest of the songs,” Christensen said.
