Senior Addie Brizzee dozing off after a long lesson after staying up until 4 AM

Have you ever fallen asleep during class? Many students at Madison High School have taken a nap during school on several occasions. There are countless things that cause students to stay up super late such as watching their favorite show on netflix, scrolling through social media, or cramming in some last minute homework before school the next day.

“Normally I am up super late the night before watching TV, being on my phone, or even just doing homework,” Senior Ella McOmber said.

But even when students go to bed at a decent time they still doze off during class because of lessons that seem to drag on and on.

“Sometimes my classes are boring so I don’t pay attention and there is nothing better to do so I just fall asleep,” Senior Addie Brizzee said.

Falling asleep during class can be super nice, especially if you’re exhausted or if you can no longer stand the lesson. However, taking a nap can come at a price. Junior Parley Porter shares his unfortunate experience.

“In history we turn the lights off when we watch a video so it’s easy to fall asleep but then when I wake up we’ve done an entire assignment,” Porter said.
