With school taking the majority of the year it can take up alot of kids’ time. Not to mention the hours of homework they have along with the after school activities, family time, and friend hangouts that can leave kids crazy busy and stressed. Junior Jillian Waldron says her input on how her day goes and attempts to manage her time.

“I try to practice my violin in the morning so I don’t have to do that after school. I leave for early morning seminary, go to school and there I will try to get my homework done in school or class as much as I can. When I get home, I will get my jobs done and then hopefully I will have free time if I am smart about the way I do it and prepare in advance,” Waldron said.

Being caught up in work can make a high schooler or any person extremely busy. Junior Lexi Green shows how she manages it when she works, dances, and has homework.

“I have dance Tuesday and Thursday for two hours as well as mutual and piano right after both of those. I go to bed, school and repeat,” Green said. “I try to do homework that is due the next day right when I can, when I’ve got the little time slots. My homework that’s not due for a while. I don’t do it then, I just put it off until later because I don’t have time to do it.”

Because high schoolers are so busy, they tend to stay up way too late working on homework, their activities, or even hanging out with friends and family. On average it is said that highschoolers should go to sleep around 8:45-9:30 pm but most people go to bed around 11:00-1:00 pm. Junior Annie Langford says how late she will stay up doing things and managing time.

“I don’t manage my time, I procrastinate absolutely everything and stay up really late just to get everything in,” Annie Langford said.

For those of you wanting to manage your time or get better in time management, Junior Parker Christensen says what he recommends.

“I’d recommend just doing things if you’re stressed. Don’t waste time doing crap that you don’t care about. I had a friend say if you really care about something you shouldn’t waste time doing other things. So if you’re doing homework, don’t procrastinate because that’s going to be the main thing that is cutting into that. If you can learn to remove that waste of time and dedicate it to doing things you want to do and care about, it will probably remove a lot of stress,” Christensen said.
