Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular holidays of the year. It is a perfect time to show your special someone how much you love them by giving them candy, gifts, and kisses. Another way to show your love is by having a Valentine’s Day tradition. Seniors Stockton Christenson and Pyper Sponenburgh share a tradition they do each year.

“We go to Dairy Queen and get some ice cream and we usually go to the dollar theatre and watch a movie after that,” Sponenburgh said.

However, some individuals may not have a significant other to share this holiday with. If you’re single this Valentine’s Day, here is an idea of how to celebrate from Senior Brielle Barney.

“I celebrate Valentine’s Day when I’m single with my mom. She makes me friggin’ delicious cookies. Cookies over a boyfriend any day,” Barney said.

However, not every Valentine’s Day experience can be tender and sweet. Take it from Junior Camry Stanford who was once betrayed.

“During my 4th grade year a boy asked me to be his valentine and so I got him a stuffed animal and a heart box of chocolates and I gave it to him. 15 minutes later he went and gave my gift to another girl and I started crying on my way home. I hadn’t had a valentine since my traumatic experience,” Stanford said.
