Last week the Madison Bobcats went up against their rivals, the Hillcrest Knights. The rivalry matchup ended in a loss. The Hillcrest basketball team won Tuesday’s non-conference game at Madison 64-61.

Madison was ahead by 4 points,  one of Hillcrest’s players shuffled stepped and muscled his way in for an and-one layup. He made the layup but traveled. The refs didn’t see him travel, and soon all the Madison fans were upset and even Coach Schwab was upset. Coach Schwab got upset by yelling at the refs. The technical gave Hillcrest the chance to take the lead, by shooting two free throw shots. Hillcrest made both free throws and ended up taking the lead for the rest of the game.

Following last week’s loss, Madison is planning on getting revenge on Hillcrest tonight at 7:30p.m. The starting 5 for Madison will be Braxton Pierce (Post), Eli Randall (Power Forw

ard), Logan Crane (Small Forward), Tyson Lerwill (Shooting Guard), and Taden King (Point Guard).

Coach Schwab wants his whole team to be united with team chemistry. This team and all it’s fans want to win this game against Hillcrest, and in order to do that Madison needs to build up their team chemistry levels higher.

“Chemistry needs to be worked on and the players can tell as well,” Coach Schwab.

The main focus on tomorrow’s game is that they need to focus on making better decisions. For example, involving teammates, great man-to-man defense, great team rebounding, and great half-court offense that is methodical and takes high percentage shots.

“Today’s game we need to show that we’re 10 or 20 points better on their home floor,” Coach Schwab.

Coach Schwab wants to make up for his error tonight as well. After more practice and an extra game he and the players are going to show they are better this time, with better heart, better chemistry, and making better decisions to help get a win against Hillcrest.
