Trump’s TikTok Ban

These past couple months have been full of suspense and outrage from Trump’s multiple attempts to ban the popular app, TikTok.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen. I think that whatever he does isn’t going to go through,” Junior Eliza Gleason said.

Donald Trump has been trying to ban TikTok because it allegedly aids the Chinese government in collecting data from users in the United States to use it maliciously. There is still no evidence that this is the case.

“I think it’s stupid because I don’t think it makes that much of a difference in what we do or see,” Gleason said.

The Trump administration is forcing the company that owns TikTok to sell its platform to an American company, or he is going to drop the hammer. The first step of the ban was supposed to take place on the twentieth. This was supposed to make the app unavailable on the app store, but as of the 24th, it is yet to happen.
