Boredom Busters During Soft Closure
Everyone talks about COVID-19: what to look for, when to get tested, how to stay safe, etc… There is more to staying healthy than just physical health. People are getting depressed and lonely due to state mandated quarantines. Some however, have found ways to “bust” their boredom.
“Last week I planted flowers and some garden plants with my dad. Now everyday I can go check on them. A couple days ago my first flowers sprouted!” MHS Senior Katelyn Wray said.
With the warmer weather, people are able to get outside of their homes. Many have started diving into gardening and yard work. Others are simply soaking up the sun.
“ I am so white. I just go sun tanning.” MHS graduate from 2018, Hunter Madsen voiced many people’s feelings.
Others take up new hobbies.
“I’m teaching myself how to skateboard.” MHS graduate from 2018, Christine Helfrich said.
“I got so bored, I started drawing.” MHS senior, Zach Martin said.
Many people have begun to explore their creative side.
“I paint all the time!” both MHS seniors, Mariah Rigby and Paige Neilson said.
“I just play with my sister’s hair.” MHS junior Gracie Marshall said.
“I’ve colored more now, than in elementary school! It’s so therapeutic.” Wray said.
No matter how a person deals with their boredom, it is important to find something that helps to deal with the disappointment of staying home. Even if that something is eating food.
“I just eat chocolate anytime I want! That’s the way to live.” Madsen said.
