Three of Madison High Schools choirs took school off last Thursday and Friday to sing at temple square in Salt Lake City Utah. They traveled on four busses to accommodate all of the people who were part of this activity.

There was a lot to do because all of the students got a lot of free time where they could wander around temple square or City Creek Mall when they were not performing.

“I really like singing, all the time, so it was fun to sing a lot, although by the end my voice was dead!” Junior Katrina Morris said. “I liked seeing the lights and going up to the 26th floor of the Joseph Smith building, because you could see the entire city up there. You could see the lights and the colors and it was raining that day and it looked like fall, it was just really pretty.”

The students performed a lot, in different buildings around temple square. Although they were tired, they rose to the challenge and sang their best.

“I liked the last concert we had at the assembly hall because it was just really pretty, everyone sang really well, and there were really good acoustics,” Senior Madeline Gee said.

Choir trips like these, have a big effect on the students and help them to become closer as a group while having fun.

“I think choir trips are a good experience because you learn a lot, and get to travel and see how other people live and come together while celebrating the holidays,” Gee said.
