We Have Stopped Caring

As we come back from the four day weekend, most of us long-suffering seniors are sinking into what is most known as senioritis. Project citizen, college applications, parents expectations, scholarships, part-time jobs; they are all playing a part of this abhorrent time. Nothing but tears and stress is coming our way and this is the only beginning.

“I thought it was bad during junior or sophomore year. This is a whole different hell. All I can say is please pray for me,” Senior Roxy McCombs said.

Leaving campus early, calling in “sick”, falling asleep in class, never studying, sleeping in, late-night stressing, mental breakdowns, homework is now optional… (except for project citizen of course. No government teacher is going to let that happen,)  all of these are side effects of senioritis.

“I think that so many seniors suffer from this is because the closer you are to being done with something, the harder it is to finish. It is human nature. Just try to fight it off,”  Mr. Reeser said.

But stay strong seniors! And if you are one of those seniors who are, “doing just fine,” we are all jealous. But to the rest of us who are suffering from this, “mental affliction,” hope isn’t lost and we’ll make it, even if it is by the skin of our teeth, we’ll make it. Right? The year is young. Good luck, I hope we all make to graduation night.
