Jack-in-the-Box after closing

by Porter Tlustek

On November 20, 2023, the beloved Jack-in-the-Box store set out a sign announcing that they would be closing their doors permanently, and that they would not be continuing business in Rexburg. Many people have been wondering what would come next with a free building left without an owner. Madison students definitely have something to say about the matter.

“Chick-Fil-A, one-thousand percent,” Junior Mireya Martinez said

She thinks that Rexburg needs it due to the popularity of the restaurant that has grown significantly in the past few years.

“Because, I feel like it’s so popular, like, there’s one on campus but, it’s like half the items and so we have to drive 30 minutes all the way to Idaho Falls to get Chick-Fil-A, so I feel like it will get alot of business.” Martinez said.

Some students think that a new addition of an old classic would be the best thing for the town.

“Dairy Queen, because it has good food: cheese curds, chicken strips, and sandwiches, it’s just the best,” Junior Tanner Meeker said.

Other students have big plans for the building.

“I think we should have a pool there,” Junior Kate Heiner said, “Rexburg really needs a pool.”
