It’s been a week since Taylor Swift came out with her tenth studio album, Midnights, and students at MHS have varying opinions.

“I have really enjoyed what I’ve heard so far,” Junior Riley Sloop said. “It’s such a fun album to dance to and I’ve always loved Taylor Swift.”

But not everyone has been a fan, even refusing to listen to any new albums of hers.

“It’s kinda mid, but I haven’t listened to it,” Junior Bradley Pierre said. “I don’t like Taylor Swift.”

Even those who have been devoted fans aren’t loving the new album. Junior Ava Hacking has loved Taylor Swift for a long time, her favorite albums being Reputation and Lover, but Midnights just isn’t clicking for her.

“It’s not her best work, I feel like she has a signature sound and this album is just not her,” Junior Ava Hacking said.

But even in an album she doesn’t like, Hacking was able to find two songs that she loved, Lavender Haze, and Karma. Junior Evie Robins has one song that she particularly loves.

“I cannot stop listening to Would’ve Should’ve Could’ve, my friend showed it to me and I just loved the lyrics,” Junior Evie Robins said.

While students at MHS may be divided, there’s one thing most can agree on.

“I really like her old music,”  Junior Ava Hacking said.
