Featured Athlete: Liam Godfrey

This weekend Senior Liam Godfrey will be competing in State Cross Country. Godfrey is the only runner from MHS to qualify for state.
“I will be running the 5k at State Cross Country, ” Senior Liam Godfrey said.
Throughout the year Godfrey has been around 16-17 minutes, this race he looks forward to bettering his personal record.
“My best is a 16:15.9, but I am confident I could break that,” Senior Liam Godfrey said.
Runners are constantly trying to one up their last performance. The 5k is equal to 3.1 miles, Godfrey has a goal in mind for this competition.
“I would love to break 16 (minutes), and get some college scholarships,” Senior Liam Godfrey said.
