Jessi Bott in Bodifi working out

Finding motivation to go to the gym can be hard. For these two women from Madison High School, they have found the motivation and have turned it into a passion.

Jessi Bott used to compete in dance for about 12 years until she quit, and fell in love with the gym and weight lifting.

“I felt like it (dance) wasn’t the best environment for me. I went to the gym to stay in shape but fell in love with the process of weightlifting,” junior Jessi Bott said.

Jessi loves seeing her progress and never fails to find time to go to the gym. She’s always down to have a good workout.

“I love seeing my progress. I’m always excited to really push myself physically and mentally,” Bott said.

Techer from MHS, Emily Grover, says that going to the gym in the morning has also helped her day go better. She uses that to motivate her to go to the gym.

“I like how I feel after a good workout. There’s something about getting up early to workout that just starts my day off on the right track,” Grover said.

For some people, their motivation can bea person. Grover’s Mom deserves a lot of the credit for her starting to love working out.

“I’ve always liked to be active. When I was in 7th grade, I started running every morning with my mom and I quickly realized how good I felt after,” Grover said.

Grover is now a gym and health teacher at Madison High School.

“l guess it just set the tone for how I wanted to pattern my life,” Grover said.
