Tyke James Tackles Rexburg
From The Voice in Hollywood, to The Basement in South East Idaho, a young star travels to a place that feels like home. With sold out tickets and thousands of followers, Tyke James continues to grow his following.
“It feels like a second home to play at and the crowds always go crazy. We’ve been coming to Rexburg since 2019 and we were thinking that we have played more here than in Utah,” Tyke James said.
James moved to Hawaii when he was 12 years old. He lived in Laie, Hawaii for a few years where he soon met his whole band called “The Moss”.
“Me and Addison, who plays the guitar, met in church when I was 14, and started to play music together. His brother Brierton started to play bass with us too,” James said.
James met his drummer, Willie, when he was 16; Willie was going to school at BYU. He was a captain of a music club that they would have every Saturday and he would play the bass. Now, The Moss is planning on releasing a new song called Blink. James explains that Blink is about him putting his thoughts into his music.
“ Writing songs is hard because I have to put my brain into words. That’s why I like performing. It brings me here with you guys and helps me stay on track,” James said.
