In a recent poll ,on Madison Bobcat Beat instagram, asked the students on MHS whether they wanted more or less or the same amount of school dances. Almost half of the students (49%) said they wanted more, including Senior Anders Lofgren and Junior Mariah Wilson.

“ I think we should add one around November to kick off the second trimester,” Lofgren said, “and it should be an informal dance and also be a boy’s choice.”

6 dances throughout the school year seems just the right amount for about 34% of students. Homecoming, Halloween, Winter Formal, Sweethearts, Spring Fling, and Prom are the dances MHS puts on for the students. 17% of students want less school dances.

“ I think we should get rid of Spring Fling because it is too close to the Valentines dance, MHS Junior Paige Orr said.

MHS Senior Brielle Barney also agreed with Orr.

“ We should get rid of Spring Fling since it’s casual and I don’t know what to wear,” Barney said, “Like what do I wear? A church dress?” Barney said.

School dances are a hit with almost half of the students wanting more school dances throughout the school year.

“I want more school dances cause I get to hang out with friends, meet new people and have good memories with them,” Wilson said.
