High School Student’s Orchestra Adventure

Student violist Junior Anthony Olsen shares his experiences and challenges in the high school symphony orchestra. He is inspiring future musical students to play instruments.

“Basically, it’s a fun time, a lot of work and so it’s not always super chill but it’s fun, you get to work on hard things and get better and your instrument,” Olsen said.

Olsen tells us what being in orchestra is really like, the challenges as well as the fun around playing music with fellow students. His enthusiasm for orchestra really shows, and he recommends orchestra to everyone wanting to play and learn an instrument.

“It’s totally fun, you should totally join the orchestra. It is so fun to see yourself get better at an instrument, even if it takes a long time. You can look back over the things you did a while ago and you’re like ‘man, that’s so easy now,’” Olsen said .

He  also highlights the rewarding effort that is involved in playing an instrument in the orchestra.

“Orchestra is definitely entertaining and is a great place to learn new music. Put in the work because that is going to get you places,” Olsen said .
