Siblings at School: Perks and Problems

Drayson Holdaway

Having siblings in school can have both perks and problems. Just ask Sophomore Kaitlin Hymas,  Junior Drayson Holdaway, and Junior Lily Jensen who all have brothers or sisters in school with them.

“I’d say it’s like a mix of pros and cons. It’s a pro because he has friends that I can hang out with, and I have friends that he can hang out with, but then again, he can get annoying,”  Jensen said.

Some  feel that having siblings in school has many downsides, as it can be frustrating when they bug you and get in your way.

”He likes to bug me a lot. He’ll come up to me and bully and bug me in random classes just because he needs attention,” Jensen said.

It also means they see what happens to you, even the embarrassing stuff which can expose you.

“If you do something embarrassing like fall or do something dumb, your sibling can know about it and tell your family. That is really annoying because your family could make fun of you for it,” Holdaway said.

While having siblings at school can come with some annoying moments, it also brings along some surprising perks that make the experience better.

“I like having a sibling at school because you know that they will always be there for you and is always an option when you don’t have friends, or you are having a bad day,” Hymas said.
