Students on the Grind

Madison High School students are in money making mode as they go from school, to extracurriculars. Meanwhile juggling a job throughout the school year. This can be stressful, but working has its good sides too.
Jacob Sansom is in the Jazz band, Choir, and writes his own music. With all of these extra activities he still works a job.
“I work at Kainoa’s Hawaiian Grill and I love the food that I get to make,” Senior Jacob Sansom said.
Students work all kinds of jobs, some are more fun than others. Sadie Warner works at Cold Stone Creamery.
“The worst part about working with ice cream is that it gets absolutely everywhere,” Junior Sadie Warner said.
When working a job, you have a little spending power. Many students like to have some fun with the money they worked hard to earn.
“I spend my money on shoes, lots of shoes,” Warner said.
Having a job can bring its funny moments as well.
“I work at a call center. One time I was on a call with a lady who asked me if I loved God. I paused out of confusion and then said I did. She proceeded to ask me why I paused, I told her it was because I was confused. Then she confidently told me it was actually because I hated God.” Senior Treysen Lund Said.
