CFP Review
The expanded College Football Playoff (CFP) format, now featuring 12 teams,
marks a major shift in the sport’s postseason landscape. This change aims to provide a
more inclusive and competitive field. Rewarding teams not just from Power Five
conferences but also from Group of Five programs, potentially increasing the overall
excitement and unpredictability of the CFP tournament. This results in an unpredictable
tournament full of excitement.
One of the biggest changes people are most excited for is that the higher seeds
are getting byes. Also, the first-round games are being played on the campuses of the
colleges. This will overall boost the fan attendance. The new system injects a thrilling
home-field advantage element that fans have desired for a long time.
However while the format increases access and adds lots of good opportunities
for teams to compete for a national title, it also raises concerns about player safety and
the overall toll on athletes with the expanded schedule. This can lead to injuries to major
players who plan on taking the path to the NFL.
Though the decision promises to create more meaningful regular-season games
and better showcases the depth of talent across the nation. This offers a way better
view of who truly deserves to be crowned champion and not just having the same dang
7 teams who make it every year!
