Bennett Labaugh voted in the Rexburg City Council Election.

Turning 18 is exciting and gives you many new found freedoms and privileges. One of those privileges is voting. Some Seniors here at MHS had the opportunity to vote this year. Bennett Labaugh and Anthony Parker were two of the Seniors that voted in Rexburgs City Council election.

“I focused on the three candidates that talked about expanding Rexburg because it’s becoming more populous and all the college kids. They talked a lot about infistructor and getting funding for that to happen. I like people who can think forward into the future,” said Labaugh.

Labaugh’s focus was on the expansion of Rexburg, while Parkers was on city’s roads.

“Chambers and Walker both want to get money put into more roads. I also feel that plowing in the winter needs to be a bigger priority,” said Parker.

This was both Labaugh and Parker’s first time voting. Both feel that it is very important to get out and vote as soon as you get the opportunity.

“There’s people who fight to vote and people who don’t get to vote when they should be able to. If you have the right you should go and vote,” said Parker.
