On Friday many college students are returning to BYU-I to start on monday. They have decided to close the South Rexburg exit so you can only turn right. The resource officer, Officer Boivie, gave us some information on why this is happening.

“It’s only being closed on the south ends and if you come off you can’t turn west. You have to come off and turn right toward McDonalds to go east. They’re just doing that because the traffic backs up so bad and you get cars stopped on the highway. They will have an officer there waving people through at the off ramp and one at Mcdonalds to try and get cars through there. We were told to expect from about 6:30 or 7 till about noon or 1,” Officer Boivie said.

Many people at MHS use that exit to come to school in the morning. Here are a few things Officer Boivie said to try and avoid the traffic.

“The alternate route you could take is to get off at Thornton and come up that way and come through or go down to the next exit and come up by valley wide,” Officer Boivie said.
