JV Baseball Wins District Championship
Our JV Baseball team had the chance to go to Districts and play for our school. With getting brand new coaches in the middle of the season, they played great at districts. They came home with the win against Highland and Rigby.
“We did really good. We went 2-0 at districts and 10 runned both teams, we went to Pocatello to play for districts. We only played two teams but there was four in the tournament. Thunderidge and Rigby are the only teams we played. But we went 14 wins and 3 losses for our entire season. I played second, outfield, and pitcher for all of the season which was fun,” Junior Mackay Sponenburgh said.
One thing that makes a great team is being able to bond with your teammates throughout the season. Knowing that you can count on everyone else to have your back makes a big difference in performance.
“The best part about my season was making those friendship bonds and having fun with your team,” Sponenburgh said.
The JV team is all made up of good friends who know how to play well together with each other most of them have known each other for quite some time.
“I played shortstop for the team, we did really good in Districts down at Highland high school which was really fun. I really liked playing with the kids on my team that was probably the highlight of my season,” Junior Jace Leatham said.
They had some ups and downs throughout their season with getting new coaches in the middle of the season and having people gone for a couple of games. But even though those things happened, they still played great and won districts in the end. Congrats to the JV team for having a great season and playing their absolute best to have the title of District champs.
