Social media is everywhere for high schoolers. It’s in our homes, classes, and even our pockets. Many students are known to create spam accounts, know as “finstas”, to rant or make memes. Why keep up with this?

“I just think it’s kind of fun and I like to keep it between me and my pals. I don’t want everyone to be like ‘oh, that’s his finsta,’ I gotta switch it up to keep myself somewhat anonymous,” Senior Henry Fye said.

The account @dekittamemes on Instagram has over 4,000 followers. She started it with one recreation meme and then it grew.

“I put a hashtag ‘dekitta memes’ on a picture and someone commented that we need to start trending it and so I decided I should just make a page,” Senior Dekitta Williams said

Inspiration comes in many forms. Whether It be for video ideas or memes, you can make a finsta from anything.

“I found a blue spatula and I find songs that have the word flip in them,” Senior Scout Barton said.
