Mr. Chavez or Johnny Fingers?

“Johnny Fingers” was his nickname in high school, but we all know this die-hard rock fan as Mr. Chavez.

“My passion for hard rock came from my brother. He left for the army and he always listened to hard rock and I would listen to it when he was gone,” Mr. Chavez said.

In high school, Mr. Chavez and his pals started a band called the “Hypocrites”.  This band lasted 2 years and then he continued with another band called, “Call it Courtesy”. Chavez and his band had many gigs, from playing in the backyard to going to New Mexico to play.

“We started from the bottom and plateaued,” Chavez said.

He loves playing to this day, even if the band isn’t together anymore.

“Don’t give up even if you don’t make it to the top. The journey is still worth it,” Chavez said.
