Since the snow is starting to melt and it is getting warm, the spring sports season has come. MHS tennis players are practicing everyday after school at MJH or MHS for 1 to 2 hours.

“We do workouts, running, and practice games everyday after school and it is so much fun,” Junior, Janja Paethke said.

The tennis practice started on February 23rd to prepare for the coming matches. They are now preparing for their first match of the season which will be held on March 23rd, in Boise.

“I love the sports, people, and the coaches. The best part is that I get the amazing opportunity to play with my twin sister Brielle. I have so much fun and winning in a bonus,” Senior Brooke Hammond said.

Some players have been playing tennis for more than 10 years, and some had never played tennis before. Although tennis is not a team sport, they have strong relationships and are enjoying playing tennis with their teammates.

“I had never played tennis as a team until I joined the team this year but I really like it because I could meet new people and they are so nice. We’re all the team,” Junior Fernando Fontes said.
