Students are preparing for track season by getting in shape during their 5th hour class, which is important because the season is long and the athletes need to be in shape to perform well in their events throughout the season.

“Drinking lots of milk to recover and eating lots of recovery food [helps],” Senior Jeremy Jacobson said.

Junior Mason McWhorter just got done with the basketball season about 2 weeks ago and is starting track this week. He is very excited that track is starting.

“Practices have been super easy, unlike basketball,” McWhorter said.

The track team was able to get out on the track field for the first time Monday, to practice for their first meet–which keeps getting cancelled. Athletes are excited for many different things that come with the start of the season.

“[I enjoy the] social interaction, hanging out with friends and being fit,” Jacobson said.
