The Cats played tough but fell short to Bonneville.

The Madison’s girls basketball team lost to their district rival Bonneville. With the final score of 52-27, you could tell that Bonneville came seeking revenge for last season’s loss, and they succeeded. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 13-8, with all of the Bobcat’s points scored by Bethany Dow.  A big strength of Dow’s was her rebounding skills. She has a great jump and is able to quickly retrieve the ball. Not only her, but the whole team was able to do this really well. All the girls were very aggressive and able to get in there, grab the ball, quickly get out and bring it back to Madison’s side of the court. Even though all the shots didn’t make it in, the Bobcat’s were able to keep the ball on their side for a good part of the game.

The teamwork was incredible. They were able to connect with each other quickly and efficiently. There was never any hesitation. This was a great way to keep the ball with Madison. With the game being so aggressive, there were many chances for free throw shots. Most of which were not made. This might be something the team will practice and consider for the next upcoming game against Rigby, Madison’s biggest rival.

The team came onto the court in the second half with a very strong start. There was a new focus. All players were really in the zone. Madison started scoring very fast, a shot was made from the 3-point line, and quickly following it were two good free throws. It was quite obvious that the Bobcat’s were hungry for a win, especially playing at home. Even though the Cats weren’t able to bring home the win, their hard work really paid off. They were able to prove that they are a strong team and a threat to other opponents. The teamwork, and rebounding looked great.
