With the first snowfall of the year, MHS students take caution while driving on the icy roads. Most high school students have to rush to their first hours in hope that they’re not going to be late.

“Most people go way too fast! Ninety percent of the accidents we have are because everyone sees a speed limit sign and still thinks that it’s okay to drive the speed limit even when the roads are icy,” Officer Boivie said.

Slowing down and taking your time might seem like it won’t pay off but in the end it will.

“I’ve been pulled over seven times and all of them were for speeding,”Junior Teagen Bradshaw said.

We have a code in Idaho that says “drive the conditions of the road”.

“As long as you drive safe you will be fine. Just be cautious and have a good space between you and the car in front of you,” Sophomore Alex Blacker said.
