Dancing with the MHS Stars

On Saturday night, students and teachers participated in Rexburg’s Dancing with the Stars. Rexburg Dancing with the Stars is a fundraiser for the Madison Education Foundation. They get 100% of the profits and they are then used to help teachers in our district. It’s a great opportunity for the people involved.

“I don’t have any dancing experience and it’s been one of my dreams to actually learn how to dance. So this has been a really fun experience to actually learn moves,” Mr. Forbes one of the contestants said.

This is also a fun experience for the MHS student dancers, despite their partners’ lack of experience.

“He [Mr. Forbes] doesn’t have any experience but he caught on really fast. We’ve only had three practices and we already have the dance down. I really like the routine, and it’s fun to have support from all the students,” Senior Caroline Bates, Mr Forbes’ partner said.

The experience doesn’t stop there though. This event also affects the people watching and the other people that take part in it.

“Oh it’s fun, about 7 years I was a contestant in it, and that was a fun thing on it own but a lot of hard work. So I didn’t really mind mcing it because now I don’t have worry about learning a new dance every year but I know what they’ve gone through. So it’s kind of a fun thing to be able to introduce and see what they’ve done,” Mr. Snelgrove said.

After a fun night full of dancing, and voting was counted the winner was announced. Footloose danced by Mr. Forbes and Caroline Bates won.
