Cross Country Prepares to Outrun the Competition
MHS cross country team attended the Bob Firman qualifying meet in Boise, Idaho this past weekend.
“It was really good for our team to qualify for a certain meet and then go together as a team and run together. We beat the other teams in our district we were aiming to beat. I think it’s a great meet to start the end of the season,” Senior Tyler Cochran said.
Racers enjoyed the Bob Firman meet and how many people were there.
“It was so fun and so crazy because there were a lot of schools. There were a hundred schools, give or take,” Junior Sydney Dustin said.
Districts for cross country will be held on October 18 at the Rexburg Municipal Golf Course and MHS has been putting in hard work to prepare.
“It’s not so much the short term of showing up and getting ready the night before, it has to be an effort. All of the hard work has to really add up to how fast you end up running at the meet,” Senior Jessica Sutton said.
The team is excited to compete in districts and plans on out running the competition.
“I think we are improving a lot and we are set to do well at districts,” Senior Tyler Cochran said.
