Getting to play in the Super Bowl halftime show is a tremendous honor. Usually, receiving this gig means you’ve made it big. Numerous singers have lived up to their fame and glory by nailing their performance, but there have been many mishaps that made the viewers question the ability of those selected.

This year on Feb. 5th, Lady Gaga will be performing for the Super Bowl 51’s halftime show, despite singing the national anthem the previous year, which has been designated to Luke Bryan this time around.

“[Lady Gaga] always puts on a good show.” Junior Parker Weber said.

Weber then goes on to say how this year’s halftime show should definitely be interesting in view of the fact that he likes her voice, how she dresses and the way she acts.

With Lady Gaga’s crazy outfits, and hairstyles, many people are wondering if she will be added to the list of Super bowl Halftime mishaps, including: Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s 2004 wardrobe malfunction on stage, Katy Perry’s 2015 “left shark” incident.

“It (the ‘left shark’) was a savage and did whatever the crap it wanted,” Senior Dylan Foutz said. But there’s always the chance she’ll nail her role.

“I think that we need to get back to finding acts that will please all audiences, and not acts that will please only a few. And i don’t think that the Super bowl halftime show is a place to make a statement in terms of politics, your opinion, whatever. I think it should be strictly an entertainment value, and that’s why i think we should back to an act that will please all audiences,” Economics teacher Mr. Lambson said.
