Behind Madison High are three greenhouses full of a variety of plants. These greenhouses allow students to grow gardens year round and learn about taking care of plants.

Many of these plants are sold at an annual event. The greenhouses grow everything from tomatoes and peas, to aloe vera plants and pineapples.

“ Plant science was one of my favorite classes. It was really interesting to watch the plants grow throughout the tri,” Sophmore Tyson Jones said.

A variety of flowers are also grown and used for floral design. If you are interested in plants, try taking plant science or floral design next year.

Top 5 things to grow in a Greenhouse:

  • Leafy Greens
  • Micro Greens
  • Spinach
  • Cucumber
  • Tomatoes
