Ronaldo vs. Messi

A hot topic that has been going around for a while in the soccer world is the Ronaldo or Messi
conversation. I think Messi is better. Messi and Ronaldo both have their strengths and weaknesses. They
are considered two of the best dribblers and finishers in the world. Messi stands 5 feet and 7 inches and is
36 years old while Christiano Ronaldo is 6 feet and 2 inches and 39 years old. Messi has 8 Ballon d’Or
wins, winning one in 2023 after his amazing performance in the 2022 World Cup with 5 goals, 3 assists,
and the World Cup trophy.
Ronaldo has 5 Ballon d’Or wins. This isn’t the only award that Messi has more than Ronaldo. He’s
won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award 3 times, the European Golden Shoe 6, and the World Cup Golden
Ball twice.
I asked soccer player Max Thueson who he thinks is better. “I think Messi is better than Ronaldo
because he’s a better all-around player. His stats are just purely better. And he has won a World Cup which
is better than anything Ronaldo has ever done,” Max said.
I asked soccer player Joseph Campbell the same question. “For me, Ronaldo is the goat. He went
out of his comfort zone, went to 3 top leagues in his career, and dominated each one. Messi may be a little
bit more decorated but Ronaldo proved he can be the best wherever he goes,” Joe said.
Inter Miami is now the 4th strongest team in Major League Soccer. Before the arrival of Messi,
they were ranked last and not even in the top 10. Messi has made an impact on the MLS. Two of his
former teammates at Barcelona joined him, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba.
Messi and Ronaldo are close but Messi’s ability to still perform at a high level at this point in his
career and win a World Cup gives him the edge over Ronaldo.
