The Madison Boys Basketball team blew past the Rigby Trojans in a 68-38
win in last night’s game. This was the first game of the district tournament and
Madison showed just how good they are. The Bobcats started the game a little slow
offensively but were able to lead throughout the game thanks to their tough defense
which got them 7 steals in the first quarter. Team Captain Barrett Wilson said, “We
played great defense in the first half.” The Bobcats began to pick up offensively as
the game went on and they ended up shooting 46% from the 3-point line.
Madison’s leading scorer was Nash Humphreys with 28 points, Carter Lerwill
added another 16 points for the bobcats. Carter said, “We had great ball movement
which created good looks for open shots.” Madison eventually got up by enough to
play their JV players and Jack Cordero made the stadium erupt when he made his
first Varsity bucket. The Bobcats will be home against thunder ridge this Thursday
at 7:00 pm.
