Madison Cheer Nearly Crushes the UVC competition

Last Saturday the Madison Cheer team competed at the annual UVC competition at Madison. This is one of the most important competitions to the cheerleaders because it is at home. The cheerleaders were fairly happy with the turnout. The cheerleaders took first place in co-ed show, first in om, first in JV pom, and got second place in sideline to Nampa. After hearing they only lost sideline by 0.5 points, the team felt that they performed very well. “The competition was tough, but at the end of the day we did our best and won almost all of our routines,” says varsity captain Reese Poll. The cheerleaders plan to continue working hard and do well at their competition on the 21st in Pocatello. The Madison cheerleaders have taken second in cheer state for the past two years to the Highland Rams, and hope to take the championship this year. “We’re gonna have to keep working hard, but I think we have what it takes,” says Varsity Co-captain Kiley Wright. There have been some injuries on the team this year, but they are doing their best with the athletes they have and have adjusted well to changes. One thing is for sure, don’t underestimate the Madison High School cheerleaders.
