Madison High School Seniors show their excitement for their final year with this accessory, paying homage to their now distant childhood.

“At first I kind of thought they were weird that all the seniors had little kid backpacks, and then I realized that as you get older you just don’t really care as much,” Senior David Cooper said.

But what’s the point of them? What makes them so special?

“I got mine because of my friend group, we kind of just had nicknames but I have two other ones so I switch every once in a while,” Senior Oakley Leatham said.

Once underclassmen themselves, these seniors pass on the throwback trend from their own older siblings.

“At first when I was a sophomore I thought my brother was really weird for doing it but now I think it’s kind of cool,” Senior Hailey Rawlings said.
