Hello Madison High School parents and guardians, I hope that this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to our school community and let you all know about the exciting plans and changes that this year’s prom is going to bring! The 2023 Prom for Madison High School will be held on Saturday, May 6th, from 8 pm – 11:30 pm, at the Brickyard Event Center in Idaho Falls.
Transportation is included in the price of the ticket. However, students are welcome to drive themselves to the dance. Students are expected to pay the full price of the ticket regardless of whether or not they take advantage of the transportation offered. Buses will leave promptly at 7:50 pm from Madison High School and arrive at The Brickyard Event Center at or before 8:30 pm. Likewise, buses will depart from the Brickyard Event Center at 11:45 pm and arrive at Madison High School at or around 12:25 am.
This year, tickets will be available to purchase online April 3rd-April 28th. There will be no refunds once tickets have been purchased. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of prom. The cost of tickets will be $40 per person/ticket. As a committee, we understand that this is a large increase to the previous years’ ticket prices. Below is a breakdown of our expenses, so that students and parents alike understand the need for the increase of the price per ticket.
Cost Breakdown:
Decorations – $1,000
Venue – $2,000 + $1,000 refundable deposit
DJ (A&B Productions) – $3,500 – $4,000
Transportation Fee – $500
Total Cost Out of Pocket: $8,000-$8,500
Any extra funds will be placed in an account for the class of 2024. This money can and will be used to pay for activities like our commencement ceremony, a class gift, Winter Formal, etc.
Lastly, we are excited to announce that Jensen Jewelers has donated crowns, which allows us the opportunity to have nominations and vote for a Prom King and Queen. Only members of the class of 2023 will be eligible to participate in the running for and titles of king and queen. Nominations will be held in April. Both king and queen will be announced at the dance.
We are excited to try new things and make lasting memories for our students. It is the committee’s hope that everyone will enjoy these new changes and have a great time at the dance. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or our administration.
