Helping or Hurting?

A new traffic light was installed outside MHS to help regulate traffic jams caused by exiting students. It is a four way light that was activated after Christmas Break.

The new traffic light has really jammed up traffic here at MHS. Overall feelings toward the new light are very negative.

“I find the traffic light really annoying because I’ll be just cruising and all of a sudden it will turn red and there is literally no-one going the other way,”Junior Todd Heward

Traffic jams when exiting MHS after school have gotten far worse since the light has been installed. This is because students are forced to stop while the light is red for a long time before exiting school grounds.

“The other road is never busy so you just sit there waiting while no one else is going,” Senior Ella Bjornn.

Lunches are also cut short when entering and exiting the school because of the light. This makes lots of students tardy for their fourth hour.

“I’ve been made late like 5 times because of the traffic light,” Senior Brynlee Hansen said.
