Believe it or not, some kids not only have jobs, but they are their own bosses too.

“I have a Cricut machine at home and so I do my own vinyl designs. And I make tshirts with the vinyl designs or stickers or I can do mugs and stuff,” Senior Ashlynn Park said.

Park has been doing this for almost 2 years and she started it in the midst of the pandemic. Park isn’t the only one with a small business at MHS, Senior Jessica Lewis has one as well.

“So I have clients that are regulars that come in every two to three weeks and they get fills, and I just paint peoples nails,” Lewis said

While the perks of running her own business can be nice, it can also be a lot of work.

“I also spend a lot of time researching and figuring out how to make my clients nails last longer and which products are better to use and which products are better for your natural nails.  I’m always researching and buying products and that’s like half my whole business,” Lewis said.

But although these jobs can be a lot of work both girls say they love doing it. Park’s aunt started it with her to help Park relax and destress.

“I love it. It’s so fun, and it’s a good way to make extra money and I can make my own hours,” Lewis said.
