Student Section’s Spirit Breaks the Benches
During Madison’s first home game everyone was filled with bobcat spirit, especially the students. As a result of our bobcat pride and how hard our students cheered, the benches in the student section were bent.
The benches were removed and will remain as platforms.
“We want kids to come and enjoy it and have a good time and I don’t think anyone was trying to be malicious by any means,” Vice Principal Klassen said.
This has happened before at other schools so it makes sense that it would happen here at Madison, especially with our spirited students.
“We kind of anticipated it after seeing it happen at other schools like Corner Canyon,” Klassen said.
The school doesn’t know for sure whether they’re going to replace them or just take them all out in the student section. They’re leaning toward taking them out like they did at Corner Canyon.
The benches that were removed had major bends in them.
“We want kids to have fun and be rowdy, this is what this is for, so it’s just better to not have the benches,” Klassen said.
