Manual is a dying art

Knowing how to drive a manual is a dying art. So we asked high school students what they thought.
“Knowing how to drive a manual is very important because there are a lot of people that have family farms with old equipment and vehicles,” Junior Brydon Wilcox said.
Having old equipment is common and not buying new equipment might have to be the option if people can’t afford it.
“The families with farms are not always wealthy so they can’t afford to buy a brand new pickup with an automatic transmission, so knowing how to work a manual should be taught,”
Some people can’t afford to buy new vehicles but Kaitlyn thinks a little differently.
“Most cars have an automatic transmission so you don’t have to worry about the lame manual shifting, and it gets too hard to stop and go in town,” Junior Kaitlyn Mortensen said.
