Bobcats Dominate Rams in Girls Basketball Tourney

Madison beat Highland 38-23.
On February 3rd, the Madison Bobcats defeated the Highland Rams in the first round of district play. It was a dominant showing for the Bobcats, winning 38-23. Madison’s zone defense suffocated the Ram offense. Madison controlled the tempo for the entire game. This was a surprising result for both teams and fan bases. Highland had dominated the other two meetings this year, sweeping the Bobcats coming into the district tournament. Madison will play Feb. 5 at Thunder Ridge. Highland will play Canyon Ridge for an opportunity to face the loser of the Madison-Thunder Ridge game. Should Madison defeat the Titans, they would play Rigby for an opportunity to go to state. The Bobcats still have a long way to go to get to state, and they need to rely on the dominant defense they have relied on all year.
