With the new season coming up the Madison softball girls have been preparing and they are excited! To prepare Coach Cam, Coach Madison and Coach Maddi, have been holding open gyms and team workouts. These open gyms and workouts are open to anyone who is interested in trying out for softball and help build the program. These open gyms and workouts started in late November but people start to get really serious about coming in the beginning of January. This is because softball tryouts are normally in the last couple weeks of February and then games start soon after in mid March.
Cashlyn Allen has been working hard all winter, “I’ve been going to the gym and going to every open gym.” she said. When asked what her favortie part of the offseason is she said, “Working hard to become better!” Melli Nelson also has been working hard this winter, “I think it’s important because if you don’t practice at all before tryout you won’t be at your peak to try out, so you will be worse than you actually are!” she said. She is looking forward to “Hopefully playing varsity and just having fun” in this year’s season.
So we can gather that the open gyms and workouts are very important to them so that they can get ready to dominate this year and that these girls are very excited for this upcoming season and they are working very hard to prepare! So all there is left to say is good luck with the 2026 softball season!
