Hawke Cordero plays Thunder Ridge on Jan. 15, 2026
Hawke Cordero is a sophomore at Madison High School, where he plays JV basketball and JV football. Hawke says his family motivates and inspires him because they are all athletes, which makes him want to play as well. Hawke started playing competitive basketball at five years old and has been shooting hoops for as long as he can remember.
Hawke said his favorite part about playing basketball is “being able to connect with newpeople and just to have fun.”
In his free time, he likes to go on walks and hang out with friends; he is a very talkative and outgoing person. Hawke’s favorite memory of basketball was when he
hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to win a game!
When he and his teammates are getting ready for a game, they hype themselves up by playing music, clearing their minds, and focusing on the game.
Hawke plays the positions of shooting guard and small forward, wearing jersey number 11. He is thinking about playing college football or basketball after high school. Hawke’s love for basketball continues to grow as he gets older.
