An Inside look at Miss Madison

We have all seen Miss Congeniality where Gracie Lou Freebush teaches how to S.I.N.G. but as entertaining as that would be to have at Madison, Miss Madison is a pageant for high school girls to compete for scholarships.
“Miss Madison is on January 17th. I can sell you tickets and they will be $12 or you can buy them at the door for $15,” Junior Ellie Baker said.
Some contestants choose to compete in Miss Madison for the scholarships while others see it as a learning experience.
“In Miss Madison, you have a platform and my platform is all about stepping out of your comfort zone. One thing that really pushes me out of my comfort zone is public speaking and sharing my talent,” Baker said.
Every contestant gets to choose a platform and it should be something they feel really strongly about.
“My platform is called Hearts Across Ages, and my goal is to connect our senior citizens in Rexburg with our high school students,” Senior Crissy Smith said.
Miss Madison brings many opportunities, responsibilities, friendships, and memories to the contestants that they will never forget.
“I think the group of girls is so fun and when I watched it last year I thought it was amazing and I wanted to be a part of it. Plus you get to wear a pretty dress,” Smith said.
