How To Prep For Finals

The end of the trimester can be very stressful for students’, especially ones who haven’t even begun studying for their CECA’s. Bryan Jones, a health teacher here at MHS, shares some of his wisdom on how to prepare for your finals.
“Because I don’t enjoy taking notes, or didn’t when I was in high school, I give my students all my notes right up front. Day one of that unit, I give them my notes so that anything we might be using on the test, they have it.” Jones said.
Some people study for days, some mere hours before their finals, but what is truly the best way to study?
“Till’ they’re comfortable with the topics, ‘ cause they should have an idea of whatever the class is, that you should be aware of what the teacher was saying, ‘this is the stuff that’s gonna be there’,” Jones said.
For the future, what can be done throughout the trimester that will help you in the end and will help ensure that you will make it?
“Not everybody likes taking notes, but if you find the teacher is talking about something that you think, ‘wait a minute, I don’t know what that is”, then you might take a note,” Jones said.
Forgetfulness can catch up to anyone, and if it does, go back and try to find what you’re missing.
“If that little voice inside is saying, ‘I’m not sure’, then maybe go over it again or talk to your teacher,” Jones said.
